Smart Parking System by IOT

1 Introduction
Smart parking system by IOT is a project which
aims to make it much easier and faster to find a
suitable parking lot that has empty spots. Finding
parking spots is something that has been getting
much harder in recent years. This project aims at
tackling these and connecting them to a cloud
service accessible to every driver
2 Objectives
1. Make it much easier to find empty parking space
2. Reduce traffic congestion
3. Reduce fuel wastage
4. Reduce air pollution
5. Connect most parking lots smart and accessible
3 Methodology
Our project will be a small system aimed at
delivering the idea of our proposal to everyone. We
will be using ultrasonic sensors, and a LED in every
spot, also we will be counting how many spots are
taken in every parking and also sending the data to
an LCD display which will be hanged in front gate
of every specific parking lot to show the amount of
free spots, Also for the cloud service all the data that
we get from the microcontrollers will be uploaded to
our cloud service which is Blynk, we will also have
a gate that will automatically open when a car
approaches

Why we need this 5
In a very compact and densely populated areas in
most cites, lack of parking space is a major
problem. According to a research around 30% of the
cars on the roads of major cities are actively
searching for vacant parking lots and it takes nearly
around 7.8 minutes to find a suitable parking lot.
The stats mentioned above tells about the
severe wastage of time and the creation of traffic
congestions around the big cities.
Future Works 6
This project has a lot of potential upgrades and other
features that can be added to it to make it even more
useful. One of those upgrades is if we use image
processing systems instead of sensors, We can also
implement a reservation system to our application
so people can reserve a parking spot through our
application for a small fee.
Conclusion 7
In conclusion we know why this project is so
important for the future of our cities, For reducing
traffic, Air pollution or fuel and time wastage. This
solution will not cost too much and it will fix so
many problems and make our cities much more
inviting
