 Introduction
Of the almost one million animal species,
250,000 are insects. However, of this number, only
5-7% of the insects are harmful. Most of the
insects are predators and pollinators.
Insects were already there before the
existence of man. They are so versatile that to
attempt to eradicate them would be to invite
disaster. Therefore, instead of eradicating them, we
should only maneuver them so that their effect or
damage on our crops would be minimal.
 Bio-Control and Botanical Pesticide Preparation
 Para sa Madaliang Gamit – di- maaring iimbak ng higit sa
isang araw
Mga Kailangang materyales:
• 500 grams o ½ kilo ng alin man sa mga sumusunod:
 Oregano, dahon at katawan
 Marigold, buong halaman pati ugat
 Madre de cacao o kakawate, dahon
 Neem tree, dahon
• 1 litrong tubig, hindi treated o walang chlorine
• Malinis na lalagyan na may takip
• Kutsilyo at sangkalan
• Panghalo, sandok na gawa sa kahoy o plastic
Procedure:
1. Putulin ang mga materyales (500 grams), 1
pulgada ang putol.
2. Ilagay sa lalagyan ang mga pinutol na
halaman.
3. Ibuhos ang 1 litrong tubig, haluin at takpan.
Hayaan mababad sa luob ng 24 oras.
4. Salain ang katas at i-spray ang katas sa tanim
na halaman. (1part katas:1 tubig)

Marigold (Tagetes lucida)
NEEM seeds (Azadiracta indica)
Madre de Cacao (Gliridia sepium)
Methods of Preparations
Pound 500 grams of leaves, roots and
flowers then soaked with 1 liter of
water
Remove husk of two to three
handful of mature seeds, winnow or
put in water to float away the husk,
Grind seeds into fine particles.
Collect leaves of madre de kakaw,
pound to extract the juice.
Put in water to a ratio of 1 part
pounded kakawati to 5 parts of
water.
Soak for 24 hours
Methods of Use
Extract the juice and spray at a rate
of 2-4 teaspoon juice to 1 liter of
water and soap as sticker. Good for
green leaf hoppers and brown plant
hoppers, aphids and house flies
Soak ground seeds in 3 to 5 liters of
water for at least 12 hours. Filter the
solution, add detergent then use the
spray against rice pest, diamond
black moth and mango leafhoppers.
Strain the stock solution and is ready
for spraying.
For spraying, add 1 tbsp of soap to
the solution and spray to plants to
control mites, aphids, ants, worms.

Lantana Flowers Pound and store around the grains to

serve as repellant against weevils.

Vinegar Buy vinegar from your local dealer.

Bottle the vinegar as stock solution.
Spray plants with vinegar (stock
solution) for the control of powdery
mildew and other fungal diseases.
( 1 vinegar: 20 water)

Wood Ash Collect and store wood ash from your Spread around plant roots for the
kitchen control of root maggots in raddish,
cabbage, onions and other brassicas.
Make a trench of about 3-4 inches
wide and 1-2 inches deep around the
plants, then fill the trench with ash,
to control snails, slugs and
cutworms.

a. Plant-Based (OHN-Oregano)
Materials Needed:
Mga Kailangang materyales:
• 1 kilo ng alin man sa mga sumusunod:
 Oregano, dahon at katawan
 Marigold, buong halaman pati ugat
 Madre de cacao o kakawate, dahon
 Neem tree, dahon
• 3 litrong suka sasa (walang kemikal)
• 1 kilo pulot o asukal na pula
Procedure:
1. Putulin ng may 1 pulgada bawat putol ang halamang
napili. Ilagay sa isang malinis na lalagyan.
2. Ibuhos ang 3 litro ng sukang walang kemikal.
3. Ilagay ang 1 kilo ng pulot o asukal na pula. Takpan nang
mahigpit ang lalagyan. Buruhin sa luob ng 14 na araw.
4. Lagyan ng label ang lalagyan (klase ng preparasyong
ginawa, petsa ng pagkagawa at petsa kung kailan
kakatasin)
5. Kunin ang katas at ilagay sa malinis na lalagyang may
takip.
Uses and Dilution:
1. Spray laban sa insekto
2. Pinalalakas ang resistensya ng halaman
3. Ginagamit bilang foliar spray
4. Dilution ratio – 1:500 (1 part of Plant Juice to
500 parts water)
b. Oriental Herbal Nutrient (OHN)
Materyales na Kinakailangan:
• ½ kilo sibuyas, ½ kilo bawang ,1/2 kilo luya o ½ kilo
turmeric (luyang dilaw)
• 3 litrong sukang walang kemikal
• 1 kilo pulot o pulang asukal
Procedure:
1. Hiwain ang mga materyale. Ilagay sa isang malinis na
lalagyan.
2. Ibuhos ang 3 litrong sukang walang kemikal. Ibabad sa
luob ng 12 oras upang mapalabas ang mga sustansyang
nakapaluob sa materyales.
3. Ilagay ang 1 kilo ng pulot o asukal na pula. Haluin at
takpan nang mahigpit ang lalagyan. Buruhin sa luob ng
14 - 21 araw.
5. Lagyan ng label.
6. Kunin ang katas matapos ang pagbuburo at ilagay sa
isang malinis na lalagyan. Lagyan ng label.
Uses and Dilution:
1. I-spray laban sa insekto at amag na
nagdudulot ng sakit. Nakakatulong sa
paglakas ng resistensya ng tanim.
Dilution ratio – 1:500 (1 part of Plant Juice
to 500 parts water)
2. As rice seed treatment
Ratio: 2 tablespoon (10 ml)OHN ginger or
garlic to 1 liter water
