Follow-up work.
In your time with your mentor, plus your independent afternoon time you
should:

1) Complete research into the time period you want to set your final piece
in: 1960-1979, 1980-1999, 2000-2020. You will be looking at social
context, political context, historical context, cultural context.
2) Write a newspaper article or a series of articles written by your character
or create a news broadcast for TV. This is where you can be creative and
use a combination of fiction with the facts. If I was setting Aladdin in
1960 I might have found out that Goa was freed from Poruguese rule,
and so one of my articles might be about the celebrations being held.
