Introduction:
Traditional organizations have a functional division of management
and a hierarchical structure, with departments like production,
purchasing, marketing, finance, personnel, engineering, and
research and development. Line managers achieve firm goals, while
staff managers serve advisory and have administrative powers.
Meaning of Project Organization:
Project organization is a concept that defines the structure of the
organization based on the project and decides on its process, for
instance, planning, deadlines, costs, personnel, etc. It is created with
the help of employees as well as specialists from various
departments.
Definition of Project Organization:
“A project organization is a preferred means whenever a well
defined project must be dealt with or the task is bigger than
anything, the organization is accustomed to.”

Forms of Project Organization:
1. Line and staff organization.

2. Divisional organization.

3. Matrix organization.

4. Functional Project Organization.

5. Pure project organization.

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS):
The WBS defines the various project sub-activities in relation to the
project result. The WBS creates a framework for project control and
provides the basis for insight in the time and cost status of a project
through various management tools.

(OBS):
The organization breakdown structure (OBS) is an organizational chart
that represents the various constituent units that will work on a given
project. The structure links the responsibilities of constituent units to
their respective WBS levels. Every unit in WBS finds a unique
organizational unit in the OBS with specific role.
