Community Need

● The community development need I want to raise funds for is supporting mental health.

● There are plenty of facilities in Erin Mills, such as shopping centers, educational institutions, and community
service offices, but there is no mental health center in them.

● Most of the population in Erin Mills works and studies, and it is known to be the “perfect place” to live with
your family as it is surrounded by a lot of family environments. Nevertheless, a lot of citizens might be facing
different situations and emotions that need to be heard and supported.

● Taking into consideration the size of the population, it will be amazing to promote their mental health and
wellbeing, ensuring good family relationships and dynamics.
Fundraising Goal and Objectives
● Create a mental health center for the population at Erin Mills.

● The goal is to fundraise $30,000 to implement a mental health center in Erin Mills by Summer 2024.

● Promote mental health and wellbeing in the community for families, including children, youth, adults, and
seniors.

● Access different services that promote their well-being through counseling and activities.

● Ensure that the community remains the best neighborhood in which you see everyone getting involved to make
a difference and change every day.

Fundraising Plan
● The fundraising activity will be a festival with different activities, a variety of food, games, and music
from local artists. The theme is Circus Festival..

● The money raised from the activity would help implement a mental health center for the community.

● Considering the size of the population in Erin Mills, each ticket for the festival will be $15. That
includes a free drink, a sandwich, and a free game.

● People will have the opportunity to enjoy good music, food, and games.
Fundraising Plan
● The community will be involved in participating and proposing new ideas for the event.

● Our organization would ask for volunteers to assign different roles.

● We will need leaders to ensure a high level of dedication to the event.

● We will need advisers to provide ideas and insights regarding event management.

● The presence of inactive general supporters will be really important. Artists, influencers, sponsors, and
musicians could support the community and join the event in different ways.

● We will advertise the event on social media as well as share it during the event through social media platforms.

Conclusion

● The community-based fundraiser integrated the values of community

development as it took into consideration the citizens’ needs and concerns and
invited them to be part of the changes and improvements together, building
partnerships by getting to know each other for one objective and goal. It gives
them the opportunity to raise their voices, show their skills, values, and
qualities, and promote their participation in their own community, not only for
the event but also for future needs and fundraising ideas.
