PRESENT PERFECT SIMPLE

The focus is on the result, not the activity.

We use present perfect simple to describe repeated actions, it says ‘how many’
ex. I have watched that film ten times.

Describes a completed action


ex. I have written you an email.
Present perfect continuous
Have/has + been + verb + -ing

The focus is on the activity


ex. She has been working on her diploma project.

- to talk about a situation or action that started in the past and is still continuing.
ex. They have been working since last night.

- Says ‘how long’


ex. She's been reading that book all day.
