 Background of the Study
During the Spanish colonization of Cebu in
the Philippines, they encountered heavily tattooed
Visayan people called “Pintados“, which these tattooed
people disappeared over the past 500 years because of
modern equipment on creating tattoos. Until now,Visayas
remains unexplored and
undocumented with
traditional methods for
the researchers to come
up with the concept of
“revival” of traditional
tattoos.

This study is a marriage of different fields. In particular
in Culture and Technology.
Showcase our cultural designs to other nations.
