moon making a small shadow
on the Earth.

the sun.
– Moon is in a new moon
position.

people can see a solar
eclipse.

Recent Solar Eclipse
• September 13, 2015, a partial eclipse that
was visible in Africa and Antarctica.
Types of Solar Eclipses:
1. A partial solar eclipse occurs when only
part of the Sun is covered by the Moon which
appears to take a “bite” out of the Sun.
Types of Solar Eclipses:
2. Annular eclipse occurs when the Sun’s
center is covered by the moon , leaving its
edges left uncovered, producing a ring (or
annulus) of the Sun around its edges.
