• One of the largest Hindu temples in Indonesia is
Prambanan Temple or also called Roro
Jonggrang Temple. The construction of
Prambanan Temple occurred in the 9th century
during the reign of the Sanjaya dynasty.
• At that time, the Sanjaya Dynasty dedicated the
Prambanan temple to the three main Hindu
gods or Trimurti. The three main gods are Shiva,
Brahma and Vishnu.
• The building at this Prambanan temple stands
on a square area. Each field is separated by four
walls. At the entrance, there are four large gates

• The location of the Prambanan temple is divided into
three main zones. The three zones are the inner,
outer, and middle zones. When entering the
Prambanan temple complex area, you will pass the
outer zone or the lowest level which is an open area
for tourists.
• Then, there is the middle zone or second level. In the
middle zone, there are hundreds of small temples
that once stood.
• After passing through the second zone, there is a
third level or inner zone. This zone is the most sacred
and high zone of the Prambanan temple. Inside there
are three main temples of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva
