ABSTRACT:
• The project work describes about designing of an
apartment building. The location of the project is ariyalur. The
project area is 208 squ.m. The structural elements are beam,
slab, columns, footing, etc., The planning and designing of
apartment building was done using auto CADD. Grades of
concrete and steel are M20 and Fe 415 has been used. The 53
grade of cement is used. The project is done according to IS
875:1987 (Part3). IS: 456-2000 and SP16 were used for
reference.

• Key words: G+3 Apartment building, auto CADD, M20

concrete, Fe415 steel, 53 grade cement.
OBJECTIVE

 The main objective of this project is to planning and designing a

apartment building. Due to land shortage and over population in
cites, apartment building play a vital role in cites and so the
apartment building is done. The building is a framed structure.

 A proposed apartment building is provided with all facilities for

the residential building. The facilities are includes bed room,
kitchen & staircase with passage, path & w.c with proper
specification.
INTRODUCTION:
A building is an enclosed structure that has walls, floors, a
roof, and usually windows. “An Apartment building” is a
containing separate residences where a person may live or
regularly stay. Each residence contains independent cooking and
bathroom facilities. A residence is “a temporary or permanent
dwelling place, abode, or habitation to which one intends to
return as distinguished from a place of temporary sojourn or
transient visit.”
LITERATURE REVIEW:
• NAYAR.K.R. (1997), Has correlated the housing
amenities to health improvements and examined the
conventional idea that health-promoting factors such as
housing conditions, availability of drinking water,
sanitary facilities, etc, could contribute to health
improvement among the population sometimes even more
significantly than health services.
• ADHIRAJ Aet.al.,(2010), Has discussed that the point of
the structural engineer is to model a guarded structure.
Then the structure is subjected to various types of
loading. Mostly the loads put in on the building are
considered as static
• MADHURIVASSAVAI, et.al., (2016), He says that the most
common problem country facing is the growing population.
Because of the less availability of land, multi-storey building
can be constructed to serve many people in limited area.
Efficient modelling is performed using STAAD.Pro and
AutoCAD.

• R.D, DESSHAPANE, et.al., (2017),Analysis may be branch

that involves resolution of working on construction. According
to material properties the dead load is calculated live load is
taken from code IS875-part 2.for design of column and beams
LIMIT STATE method, staircase and an isolated footing are
done by auto cad.
• F. JESIN ESTHER MARY AND DR.S.T.SURULIVEL
(2014), Carried out a Study on Buyer Satisfaction in
Residential Apartment With Reference to VGN Infra Pvt. Ltd.
The study observes the performance of the construction
company and its customer satisfaction. The performance is
calculated according to the degree of customer satisfaction as
professed by customers themselves.

• AMAN et.al., (2016), Has discussed that the aim of the

structural engineer is to design a safe structure. Then the
structure is subjected to various types of loading. Mostly the
loads applied on the structure are considered as static. Finite
part analysis that exhibit the result of dynamic load like wind
result, earthquake result, etc. The work is conducted using
STAAD.Pro software.

CONCLUSION:
 A residential apartment consisting of 6 flats accommodated in
buildings has been in planned.
 The planning has to be done as per the NBC- 2005.
 Three dimensional modeling of the building was limit state
method of design and working stress method-has adopted for
the design of structural members.
 Drafting was done using AUTO CAD 2020.
