LESSON 1
TEACHERS DEVELOPMENT IN TEACHING T.L.E.

Teachers development is the process of improving


the knowledge, skill and expertise of teachers in their
teaching.
It can help teachers grow in and outside their
Profession and enhance student outcomes.

Some strategies for teaching TLE include emphasizing


Collaborative learning groups and using various
Instructional materials and methods.
CHARACTERISTIC OF A DESIRABLE
TLE TEACHER

1. A teacheralways respect their student.


 Every person’s ideas and opinions need to
be valued.
 Students should feel safe expressing their
feelings and learn to respect and listen to
others.
2. A TEACHER DEVELOPS A SENSE OF
COMMUNITY AND BELONGING IN THE
CLASSROOM.

 Mutual respect in the classroom creates a


reassuring, supportive environment.
 There are rules to follow in this student
community and a job to do, and every student is
aware that he/she is an important, integral part
of the group.
3. A TEACHER IS ALWAYS CARING AND
AVAILABLE TO GUIDE STUDENTS.

>A good teacher is reachable not only for


the students but for everyone on the school
campus.

leadership to students by giving them a
chance to take on leadership roles.

IMPORTANT BECAUSE;
 it helps students develop skills and
competencies that are relevant for the labor
market and their personal development.

teaching and learning through the use of
appropriate tools and methods.
 motivates students to pursue their interest and
passions in various fields of TLE.
LESSON 2: THE ENVIRONMENT

 thelearning environment can produce


conditions and mediate relationship that can
positively influence student cognitive, social,
emotional, and mental well being, and increase
students receptivity to you, context, exchange in
the classroom, student motivation and study
habits and learning. ( hess & smythe 2004).
A GOOD ENVIRONMENT IN TEACHING
TLE IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE;

It can enhance student learning,


motivate students and foster positive
relationship among students and
teachers.
A positive nurturing environment is
an indispensable part of learning.
Itis in a positive environment that a
student feel comfortable , a place where
healthy relationship with peers and
teachers flourish.
In a good environment, the process of
learning becomes something that students
easily adapt to and look forward to.
Some strategies for creating a
productive environment in teaching
TLE are,
 Being a source of interest and
motivation for the students.
 Using collaborative learnin
methods, such as group work, peer
tutoring, or cooperative learning.
 Teaching facts, concepts, skills
and values in their entirety.
