Metal Oxide Field Effect Transistors known as MOSFETs are electronic
devices used to switch or amplify voltages in circuits. It is a voltage
controlled device and is constructed by three terminals. The terminals of
MOSFET are named as follows:
•Source
•Gate
•Drain

TYPE OF
Mosfet

Depletion mode: the transistor is in the on position without any

voltage on the gate (normally closed) it needs a voltage on the gate to
make it off.
Enhancement mode: the transistor is in an off position without any
voltage on the gate (normally open).

Power-Amplifier
An amplifier is an electronic device or
circuit which is used to increase the
magnitude of the signal applied to its
input

Why does it happen?

Amplifier classification... Did You Know?

The different between

We Dividing Amplifier in transistor into : Power amplifier classes
Class A Amplifier
• It is created when electrons are
removed or added to an object.

• It is a property of matter that

causes objects to be attractive or
repulsive toward each other.
Class B Amplifier
• Class-B Amplifiers use two or
more transistors biased in such a
way so that each transistor only
conducts during one half cycle
of the input waveform to
improve the full power
efficiency of the amplifier by
reducing the wasted power in the
form of heat, it is possible to
design the power amplifier
circuit with two transistors in its
output stage. This creates what is
commonly termed as a Class B
Amplifier, also known as a push-
pull amplifier configuration.
Class C Amplifier
• Class C amplifiers are used in
high frequency sine wave
oscillators and some types of
radio frequency amplifiers
because of their strong audio
distortion. In these amplifiers,
the LC resonant circuits in the
collector circuit allow the
current pulses produced at the
amplifier's output to be
converted into complete sine
waves of a specific frequency.
Class AB Amplifier
• Class AB amplifier output stage
combines the advantages of the
Class A amplifier and the Class
B amplifier producing a better
amplifier design, both the Class
B amplifier and the Class AB
amplifier have an output stage
comprising of two transistors
whose outputs are configured in
such a way as to reconstruct the
full 360º input waveform with or
without distortion.
Amplifier classification...
Specifications of amplifier classification:
Operational Amplifier
(OP-AMP)
• An operational amplifier (OP-AMP) is
an integrated circuit that can amplify
weak electric signals.

• An operational amplifier has two input

pins and one output pin

How does the OP-AMP work?

Working!

It is a two-port electronic circuit that uses

electric power from a power supply to
increase the amplitude (magnitude of the
voltage or current) of a signal applied to
its input terminals, producing a
proportionally greater amplitude signal at
its output.
Inverting & NON-Inverting
OP-AMP

NON-Inverting Inverting
Feedback
There are two types of amplifier feedback

Positive feedback Negative feedback

Negative feedback

In an operational amplifier, negative

feedback is implemented by feeding a
portion of the output signal through an
external feedback resistor and back to the
inverting input, and it is used to stabilize
the gain.
Positive feedback

In positive feedback, the feedback energy

(voltage or currents), is in. phase with the
input signal and thus aids it. Positive
feedback increases the gain of the
amplifier and also increases distortion,
noise, and instability.
