KeyUpdateswithHighSchoolRenewal
Graduation requirements for students in New Brunswick are changing. These changes will affect students
currently in grade 9 as they enter grade 10. Students entering grade 11 & 12 will follow the existing requirements
for graduation.
New:
• All classes in Grade 10-11-12 will be credit-based and count toward
graduation.
• Each course will be counted as 4 credits hours instead of 1 credit.
• Students will need to have 100 of the 120 possible credit hours to
graduate.
• Students can apply to graduate in January of their grade 12 year, if they
acquired 100 credit hours in the appropriate clusters.
• Students will have to pick a certain number of courses from different
clusters that the Department of Education has established.
• Students will need to use myBlueprint to create a career plan before
graduating.
• Students will need to enroll in 10 French Immersion courses over grade
10, 11 & 12 to graduate with a French Immersion certificate. 3
