E-TAX

INTRODUCTION
 E-TAX is a large public application designed to work
with SIGTAS.
 It allows tax payers to file electronically and to see and
print their declaration on line.

 It connects the tax payer with tax authority using internet.

 E-TAX consists of 2 sides :-


A. PUBLIC B. PRIVATE

-External users -Internal users

1.USER REGISTRATTION
o Tax payers must have:-
An active Tin from tax authority
(Not only for his organization but also all his employees)

2.LOGIN STEP
o Accessed using address 213.55.84.13
o To find ERCA services;-
SSL(socket security layer)
VPN(virtual private net work) login screen.

o Tax payer → e-Tax production


→ e-Tax test
o Password must be – strong password
o Expiry in 30 days if there is no action beyond Taxpayers
o ERCA Secure Remote Access VPN Service will be displayed.

3.FILING DECLARATION
STEP
o To declare the tax select Tax declaration button from Tax
payer services in e-Tax home page.
Tax → Tax → Tax
Declaration Account period

o If tax type requires supporting documents, you can add one by one,
upload in a csv format, or import the previous tax period and edit on it
during the filing process.
5 actions can be displayed for each
tax declaration period:
 File Now: can be filed online.
 In Progress: filing began but not completed.
 Filed: declaration has been submitted to Tax
Centre, submission and document numbers are
available, once assessed in SIGTAS, assessment
number will also be available.
 Suspended: Account Suspended, no need to file.
 To File Contact Tax Centre: period to file online
has expired.
 The Supporting Documents are to be completed in
three(3) alternatives.
A . Using add button to insert one by one

 All starred fields are mandatory

Click File Now → Click Add To enter → Click Add to → Click select to → save → next → submit
all the details a new record active the row

 Click on the Back button to access the previous step


 Click on the Cancel button if everything is to be annulled, user will be
brought back to the Tax Declarations page.

B . Using file upload CSV

Write all the data open save As type


on Excel using the → save in CSV comma → click file now → upload CSV → next → submit

C . Importing Previous Data
Click on import from previous Edit on every
period button, the previous → line and add or → click save → Next → Submit
period detail data will appear. remove lines

End Declaration Process, user will receive an e-Tax


submission number
oIf the Click Here hyperlink is clicked, user is brought to
the View Filed Declaration page where details of the
submitted document is available for viewing.
On the View Filed Declaration page, user has the option
to print a copy of the submitted document for their records.

3.2 TAX ACCOUNTS
 In the Tax account page Tax payers have an access to see their own Tax,
penalty, and interest .
All transactions in the tax account will be listed for each tax account; including
the tax period, the assessment number, the amount, the action type, the
against type, the penalty type, whether if transaction is a reversal or not,
the transaction date and the comments associated to the transactions

3.3 MESSAGE CENTRE


 Tax clearance certificate for BID and Annual license renewal
 Assessment notices.
 Reminder / letter from SIGTAS .
 Message like Mail.

3.4 TIN & TAX CLEARANCE VALIDATION


 To check validity of a TIN=enter tin → type captcha → click on validate button→ message will appear.
3.5 REFUND & TAX CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE REQUEST & MANAGEMENT

3.6 TAX INFORMATION
 When the tax payer make any mistake, information can be given
by TAX OFFICE.
3.7 SECURITY / OTHER
 It is virtually impossible for hackers to obtain this secure
installation
• E-Tax uses a combination of the most trusted technologies
in security, such as Java, Oracle Database and Web logic.
 SSL (SECURE SOCKET LAYER)
 For security reasons, the E-Tax database is separate from the
SIGTAS database. An E-Tax user does not have a direct access to the
SIGTAS database. A communication mechanism (DB link)between the
two applications allows data to flow from one database to the other.

login
3. New pass ward
4. Select e-Tax Production
5. Enter user name & pass ward → login
6. ERCA –Home page
7. Correcting tax payer information

Select tax payer service → Tax declaration → type


of tax → file now, in progress or filed → Add,
Import or Upload CSV → Submit → Print
