Listening
Listening is giving attention to a sound.
When listening, a person hears what
others are saying and tries to
understand what it means. Listening in
conversation. Listening involves complex
affective, cognitive, and behavioral
processes.
DEFINITION OF LISTENING
Listening is defined as “receiving
message in a thoughtful manner
and understanding meaning in
the message

4. Attitudinal Barriers
5. Perceptual Barriers
6. Personal Barriers

2.Language Barriers:-
When the dialects of every two regions change
within a few kilometres, a language barrier
happens.

3.Psychological Barriers:-
Barriers relating to the individual and individual’s
mental and emotional state are known as
psychological barriers. Key psychological barriers
are perception, faulty memory, mood and
emotional interferences.
4.Physical barriers:-
Physical Barriers consist of any sound that prevents a
person from being heard. Physical noise interferes
with a speaker’s ability to send messages and with an
audience’s ability to receive them.
Examples: whispers, cheers, passing cars or intercom
interruptions..
5.Attitudinal Barriers:-
Some have attitude issues, like ego and inconsiderate
behaviour. These cases could become a barrier to
communication.
Conclusion:-
To become a good listener it is really
necessary to overcome barriers by
using these tips. As listening is most
vital aspect of communication so to
become a good communicator it is
really important to overcome listening
barriers.
