your day-to-day activities.

Precipitation (Rain)

where the southwest
monsoon strikes.
Southwest monsoon or
Habagat
blowing from
the ocean brings
the rain.
Northeast monsoon or Amihan
blowing from the
ocean brings the
rain in eastern
part of the country
During rainy season, it is
advisable to carry umbrella or
raincoat especially in the late
afternoon. This season is usually
the planting time for farmers in
areas where there is no irrigation.
Dry Season
It is characterized by hot and
cloudless days. During the dry
season, Filipinos usually
experience extremely hot
temperatures.
People experience this season
from January to the early part of
May in some places of the
country. In other places, there is
a short dry season, usually from
March to May only.
When summer comes in the
northern hemisphere, most places in
the Philippines have dry seasons.
Locally known as tag-init or tagtuyot,
this season is the time for farmers to
harvest and dry their crops under the
sun.
During this season, it is advisable
to drink plenty of water, use
umbrella when going out, and
avoid exposure to direct sunlight
from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M in
order protect you from heatstroke
