The legend of Hotu Matu’a
The tribe’s chief, Hotu Matu’a, has left his homeland in search of new place to live in.
When he died, his ghost separated his land between the 6 of his sons.
The biggest Moai in each of son’s land was given the power of holding Hotu Matu’a’s
maana.
Hotu Matu’a’s maana was supposed to make the soil more fertile and make the plants
grow bigger.
