Introduction
International Youth Day is an
understanding day set by the United
Nations. The day's purpose is to
draw attention to a given set of
cultural and legal issues surrounding
youth. The first IYD was observed
on 12 August 2000.
History
The vision for International Youth Day was offered in
the 1991 World Youth Forum of the United Nations
System session.
In 1999, in its resolution 54/120, the General
Assembly endorsed the recommendation made by the
World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth
(Lisbon, 8-12 August 1998) that 12 August be
declared International Youth Day.

International Youth Day so that players can focus on the

where there is a need among the world's youth. On this
day worldwide, several actions and events occur.
Usually, these events are parades, concerts, fairs,
festivals, exhibitions, sports, etc.
