 Morocco holds about 75% of the world's reserves of phosphate rock -
a mineral used in fertilizer. By 2020, Morocco and Western Sahara - a
disputed territory 80% of which is administered by Morocco - had
reserves of about 50 billion metric tons of rock.

Rather than simply exporting the raw material, Morocco decided


decades ago to become one of the world's largest fertilizer producers.
By 2020, its state-owned phosphate mining and fertilizer group OCP
held a 54% market share of fertilizer exports to Africa.

United Kingdom ($235M), and Germany ($146M).

 The Noor Plant in Morocco is the world's biggest concentrated solar
power farm. It is the size of 3500 soccer fields and powers more than
1 million households.
 Morocco has set the objective of developing an energy mix, which
42% will be based on renewable energy by 2020 and 52% by 2030.
 Solar energy produced 3.8% of the country's electricity in 2020, of
which 2.8% was generated by solar thermodynamic plants and 1%
by solar photovoltaic.
