clauses together in one large sentence. A
clause is a group of words that includes a
subject and a verb.

Because one clause is related to the other. A


relative clause has a word or phrase in common
with the main clause.
3. What are the four steps to put
the clauses together?

- Find the noun used in both sentences.


- Decide which is the relative clause.
- Delete the noun used in both sentences
from the relative clause.
- Add a relative pronoun at the beginning
of the relative clause.
