• Your news must be based on the facts and not
opinions
• Your news has to be backed up by strong evidence
O B JE C T IV I T Y
• when it comes journalism, we must keep our work factual and true
to the event or source, we cannot use our own opinion.
• use 3rd person point of view and not 1st person point of view.

• you can also interview people with knowledge on the event or story to
gather opinions and experiences you can use as sources of information.
FAIR N E S S
• it ensures that every side of the story is taken into consideration to
avoid being bias and therefore making it fair for all parties
involved in the story.
• adding a disclaimer will inform the reader that what is written in
the work has been researched extensively and made sure that
every side of the story was heard
INVERTED
PYRAMID
• inverted pyramid refers to the arrangement of important
information formatted in a way that starts with
the most important notes descending from there.
• what needs to be first are the 5 W's and H (What, Where, When,
Why, Who, and How), followed by important details, then
general information.
