The EDGE Framework (Enhancement of Doctoral Graduate Employability)
CaRST - Career and Research Skills Training
CaRST is structured around the four domains of the
Vitae Researcher Development Framework (RDF)
❖ Domain A: Knowledge and intellectual abilities
❖ Domain B: Personal effectiveness
❖ Domain C: Research governance and organization
❖ Domain D: Engagement, influence, and impact

❖ Intersect is a not-for-profit Digital Research company established in 2008

❖ 11 current members across 4 states and territories

❖ The Digital Research Analyst works with Graduate Research Development (UniSA) and
the Graduate Research School (UoA) to tailor courses to meet the needs of each
university

❖ These courses are then offered as part of the EDGE / CaRST program

Conclusion

❖ Career opportunities for HDR graduates are


increasingly outside of academia
❖ EDGE and CaRST programs: similar, but different
❖ Intersect: develop solutions that can be replicated
across members, but customised in need

HDRs + Intersect = EDGE
