GAS MONITORING SYSTEM

INTRODUCTION
• The gas monitoring system is designed to
detect and monitor the levels of various gases
in an environment, providing an early warning
system in case of gas leaks or fire outbreaks.
• This system is crucial for ensuring safety in
industrial facilities, homes, and other settings
where gas usage is prevalent.
OBJECTIVE
• The primary objective of this project is to
develop a reliable and efficient gas monitoring
system that can detect gas leaks and fire
incidents promptly. Additionally, the system
aims to provide real-time data monitoring and
alerting capabilities to prevent potential
hazards.

BLOCK DIAGRAM EXPLANATION
• Gas sensor: Detects the presence of hazardous gases.
• Fire sensor: Detects fire incidents or sudden increases in temperature.
• Microcontroller: Processes sensor data and controls system
operations.
• Buzzer: Produces audible alerts in case of emergencies.
• ESP8266 module: Facilitates wireless communication for remote
monitoring and notifications.
• Servo motor: Controls the opening and closing of gas valves based on
system commands.
• Valve (open/close): Regulates the flow of gas within the system.
• LCD display: Provides real-time monitoring of gas levels and system
status.
ADVANTAGES
• Early detection of gas leaks and fire incidents.
• Real-time monitoring and alerting capabilities.
• Automatic gas valve control for immediate
response to emergencies.
• Wireless communication for remote
monitoring and notifications.
PROPOSED SOLUTION
• The gas monitoring system operates by continuously
monitoring the environment for gas concentrations and
temperature changes using sensors. Upon detecting
abnormal conditions, such as high gas levels or fire
outbreaks, the system activates the alarm and initiates
appropriate actions to mitigate the risk.
• The microcontroller processes sensor data, triggers the
buzzer for audible alerts, sends notifications via the
ESP8266 module, and controls the servo motor to open or
close gas valves as needed. Additionally, the LCD display
provides real-time feedback on gas levels and system status
for user convenience.
