The technical know-how on
the safety measures in the use of
farm tools as well as their care and
maintenance require appropriate
knowledge and skills. It helps
prevent farmworkers from any
untoward accident and prolongs
the life span of the various farm
facilities.
FARM
EQUIPMENT
1. Explain the importance of farm
implements in crop production
2. Describe appropriate safety
measures in the use of farm tools
and equipment
3. Discuss procedures in the
maintenance of farm tools and
equipment

DEFINITION used in farming.
OF Farm Implements
TERMS These are accessories pulled by
animals or mounted to machineries
to make the work easier
Hand Tools
These are objects that are
usually light and are used without
the help of animals and machineries.
Preventive Maintenance
An activity or operation done to
prevent malfunction of tools and
equipment and it is done to prolong
the useful life of tools and
equipment.
• Plows. These are farm implements
either pulled by a working animal or a
tractor. The plow is specifically used
for tilling large areas, making furrows
