¿Qué es?
Es un concepto económico que busca
explicar la relación entre las importaciones
y exportaciones de un país. Según esta
teoría, cuando un país alcanza un
equilibrio en su comercio internacional,
significa que el valor de sus exportaciones
es igual al valor de sus importaciones
Implica una distribución equitativa de
los beneficios económicos
Sin embargo, en la práctica, es difícil
lograr un equilibrio perfecto debido a
diversos factores, como diferencias en
los costos de producción, ventajas
comparativas, barreras comerciales y
fluctuaciones en los tipos de cambio.

utilizada por los economistas y
formuladores de políticas para
entender y analizar los
patrones comerciales de los
países, así como para evaluar
el impacto de las políticas
comerciales en el equilibrio de

¿Para que sirve?
Un MEGA Applied General Equilibrium
Models (MEGAs) permite analizar de
que manera cambios en política
económica generan reasignación de
recursos entre sectores,
redistribución de ingreso entre
consumidores, evaluar pérdidas y
ganancias de bienestar
Se pueden conocer los
impactos generados en otros
sectores de manera directa e
indirecta, así como otros
cambios gracias a la flexibilidad
con que se pueden incorporar
diversos detalles de la
economía en este tipo de
modelos.
 Análisis de eficiencia
Nos permite evaluar si la
asignación de recursos en
una economía es eficiente,
es decir, si es imposible
mejorar el bienestar de unas
personas sin empeorar el
bienestar de otra.
Predicción de efectos de
políticas económicas
Ayuda a predecir cómo ciertas
políticas económicas (como
impuestos, subsidios o
regulaciones) pueden afectar el
precio y la cantidad de bienes y
servicios en toda la economía.
