Training Objectives
Employee will be made aware of their responsibilities and to
follow procedures when they carry out their activities in order to
comply to the EHS-MS and also Legal & PGF Requirements;
Employee to provide safe workplace for everyone in PGF
premises (PGF employees, contractors and visitors);
Employee to protect the environment from potential
environmental impacts that could arise from their activities;
Employee to protect PGF property from damage.
Employee will be made aware of PGF’ emergency response
system on evacuation management, fire fighting and chemical
spillage.

Course Assessment
At the end of this training, participants are required
to complete an assessment exercise.

To pass, you have to score at least 70% marks for


the assessment.

Training Validity
This EHS Employee / Contractor Induction Training

is valid for 1 year from the date of training.

After it expires, a refresher training is required.

Contractor with valid Contractor Badge issued by


security are allowed to enter PGF premise to
perform work.

ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGEMENT POLICY

PGF Insulation Sdn Bhd, the leading manufacturer of fibre glasswool products for
building insulation, HVAC insulation and other speciality products for thermal and
acoustic insulation for commercial, industrial and residential applications is
committed to ensure that our business operation is undertaken in such a manner as
to hav a minimum impact on the environment and providing a safe and healthy
working conditions for the prevention of work related injury and ill health.

We believe that we have a responsibility to care for and protect the environment,
employees, our property and interested parties in which we operate through:

• Protection of environment, including prevention of pollution, reducing our


consumption of resources and waste minimization through 3R principles (Reduce,
Reuse and Recycle);
• Reducing workplace injuries and incidents by eliminating hazards and reducing
OH&S risks.

1) Comply with all local EHS legislation (including amendments) that is
related to their works in PGF premises.
2) Comply with PGF Environment, Health and Safety requirements.

3) Ensure all contractor workers (inclusive of sub-contractors) are aware
and fully comply with PGF’s EHS requirements and communicate all
queries to PGF Project / Job Owner.
4) Implement Risk Assessment (HIRARC) for all activities performed in
PGF; and control measures to eliminate hazards identified.
5) Implement Environmental Aspect Impact Assessment and control
measures to eliminate significant aspects identified.
6) Ensure the necessary documents stated below are valid and updated:
i. Safe work procedures;
ii. Environmental Aspect Impact Assessment (EIA)
iii. Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC)
iv. Other supporting documents such as equipment licenses/ permits/
certificates;
v. Worker’s licenses/ permits/ certificates;
vi. Chemical safety data sheets;
vii. High risk activity permit-to-work (working at height, hot work,
confined space, fire protection impairment activities).

9) All licenses and permits required for usage of flammable liquid and
hazardous substance must be obtained prior to bring into PGF premises.
10) Any chemical brought on site by Purchasing / Contractors and/or stored
overnight shall be accompanied with a valid and latest version of Bahasa
and English Safety Data Sheet (SDS), readily available and get EHS
approval. Any subsequent updates of SDS shall be provided to EHS.
11) Properly label, handle, store and/or dispose of all hazardous materials
and chemicals (schedule waste) generated by the workers and/or
contractor including their subcontractors.
12) Ensure all PGF employees and contractors’ and their subcontractors use
appropriate tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
as written in safe work procedure and HIRARC.

13) Report all incidents, accidents, and/or dangerous occurrence in PGF
premises immediately to the Dept Head or PGF Project / Job Owner or
emergency response personnel as needed.
14) Conduct the incidents, accidents and/or dangerous occurrence
investigation together with PGF Project / Job Owner and/or
representative of EHS personnel.
15) Ensure availability of all information, personnel, and data pertinent to
the investigation.
16) Apply the necessary high risk activity permit-to-work
to EHS Dept / PGF Project Owner (for contractor)
prior to work.
i) Working at height – Work At Height Permit
ii) Hot work – Hot Work Permit

17) Ensure all activities impacting PGF operations and employees (loud noise,
utility disruptions, emergency exit changes/temporary blockage, etc.) are
pre-planned and approved by EHS Dept and Project / Job Owner.
18) Ensure all equipment and devices are in good condition and accompanied
with relevant statutory permits / licenses such as lifting chain block, air
receiver etc. where applicable.
18) Any contractor worker employed as manual labor to carry out
construction related works/activities must be certified by Construction
Industry Development Board (CIDB). These workers are to worn valid
CIDB permit at all times while working in PGF premises.

Chemical Management
1) All chemicals used in PGF must be approved by EHS prior to bring
into PGF.
2) Any chemical brought on site or provided by Contractors shall be
accompanied with a valid and latest version of Safety Data Sheet
(SDS) and readily available.
3) Any subsequent updates of SDS shall be provided to EHS.
4) Chemical handler, including sub-contractor must
be trained and competent.
Training validity is every 2 years.
5) All chemical must be label, handle and store
as per OSH (CLASS) Regulations to prevent
contamination, injury and/or ill health.

Site Safety and Housekeeping
• Never obstruct Safety equipments eg.
Fire Extinguisher.
• Observe road signs and speed limit.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy.
• Store items in designated areas.
• Ensure no hazards are created by
equipment, hoses, cabling, etc.
• Wear PPE at the designated area.
• Vendors and contractors need to be
escorted at all time.
• Only trained contractors are allowed to
work at site.
• No Smoking allowed in PGF premise.
• No littering allowed in PGF premise.

Emergency Procedure
If you discover a fire: If you hear the alarm:
1) Stop work immediately. If it is safe, switch off

Security Guard post, Fiberizer Control Room or through Project/ Job
Owner.
Contractors are required to fill up the necessary document and
Project / Job Owner shall obtain approval from area owner and
acknowledge by EHS prior for contractor to start work.

*Note : Please plan ahead to allow sufficient


time in getting the permit approved.

It is mandatory for contractor to do a tool box meeting before start work.
Supervisor must give explanation to their workers, including sub-contractors
about their task on that day.
After finished the Tool Box Meeting, pass the form to Project / Job Owner for
record keeping.

If you have an accident or observe a dangerous event you must report
it to your Supervisor or Project / Job Owner immediately.
