INTRODUCTION

The Heart Rate Monitoring system is developed using IOT technology with an objective
of detecting the heart beat of the patient in order to monitor the risk of heart attack and also
the regular checkup.

A heartbeat can be defined as a two-part pumping action of the heart which occurs for
almost a second. It is produced due to the contraction of the heart.
The designed IoT system is integrated with the heartbeat detector and automatically updates
the heartbeat of the patient over the internet.
COMPONENT LIST

1.Nodemcu ESP8266
2.0.96 I2C OLED Display
3. MAX30100 pulse oximeter sensor
4. Breadboard
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM
APPLICATION

1.Sleep Tracking: Usually heartbeat is lower at the time of sleep.

2. Monitoring of anxiety: When anxiety happens heartbeat increases gradually that is measured
by the pulse sensor
3. Alarm system: When the heartbeat reaches to threshold alarm will activate automatically.
4. Remote patient monitoring: If the patients are in a remote area, then this sensor can monitor
the patient's heartbeat and relay it to a remote location using lot.
5. Health bands
6. Advanced gaming consoles
ADVANTAGES

• 1. This sensor measures the heart rate and biometric pulse rate.
• 2. This sensor is a plug-and-play model.
• 3. This sensor operates at a voltage of +5V/+3.3V.
• 4. Integral amplification circuit for noisecancellation,
• 5. Low power consumption
LIMITATIONS

• Heart rate monitor can be unreliable.

• Insufficient data provide.
• Inconsistent reading.
FUTURE SCOPE

Monitoring device that could be used to detect the heart beat anomalies of

physically challenged individuals without hands. Also a graphical LCD can be used to display a
graph of the change of heart rate over time.

• . A serial output can be incorporated into the device so that the heart rates can be sent to a
Personal Computer (PC) for further online or offline analysis. • It could be integrated with
mobile technology for e-health cloud transmission to health care providers.
