Art
- It is the dress that we wear, the pair of shoes we have on, and all functional
designs, etc..
- It is all around us; and it all starts with a line – first of the seven components
that make up the elements of art.
- The elements of art are the expressions through which artists communicate
their ideas and emotions.
Line
- It the distance between two points.
- It can be straight or curved, thick or thin, short or long, an
static or moving. The main kinds of lines: straight, curves, and
zigzag.
Lines represents emotions and moods.
Curved line imitates activity but in a more fluid and graceful manner, much like a
dancer.
Gives a picture a beginning or a point of origin for the artist’s story or message.
Are not only used to draw objects. Lines add effect when used in certain ways.
It follow the shape of an object and soften its edges. Outline traces the silhouette of the object to
emphasize it.

Rhythm can be seen in patterns, in relationships between colors and shapes, and in
repetitions of lines and forms.
Anita Magsaysay-Ho
- A Filipino artist known for her excellent artworks.
- She was tutored by Pablo Amorsolo, Fabian De La Rosa, and Fernando
Amorsolo
- In 1999, she set a record for living Filipino artists when her work “In
the Marketplace” sold 15 million pesos in Singapore.
- She passed away on May 5, 2012 at the age of 97.
