Iranian Origins
🟅 Iran is one of the oldest nations in the world.

The history of Iran starts with the Achaemenid

Empire, which began in 6th Century BCE.

🟅 Iranians began living in the persian region

approx. around 10th Century BCE


🟅 The Iranian peoples stem from early
Proto-Iranians, themselves a branch of
the Indo-Iranians, who are believed to
have originated in Central Asia or
Afghanistan 1800 BCE
Religions in Iran
“Religion is central to daily life” in Iran

🟅 Vast majority is Shi’a Muslim (89%)


🟅 Sunni Muslim (10%)
🟅 1% are Christian, Zoroastrian, Baha’i
and Jewish Zoroastrian was a very popular religion
during 600 BCE - 650 CE. It was also the
official religion of Persia (ancient Iran).

being put in nursing homes

regarding death or illness within the family

and Central Asia.
🟅 99.4% of the population in Iran is Muslims.
🟅 Iran is one of the oldest nations in the world knowns for its culture and history
of being one of the most progressive in the Middle East.
🟅 Iranians refer to themselves as “Persian”.
🟅 Education is greatly valued by Iranians.
🟅 Men are responsible and are the protectors for their families.
