SAP GTS,
edition for SAP
HANA is the
logical successor
for GTS 11.0
The latest
version of SAP
Global Trade
Services is SAP
GTS, edition for
SAP HANA
2023.
Standalone Co-deployment
SAP GTS and SAP S/4 HANA have to use a distinct set of application objects. This separation was not
completely secured between the two applications earlier.
Efforts haven been undertaken to establish a clear separation by renaming affected objects in SAP GTS.
As an example, Database table /SAPSLL/LCLIC is used in S/4 and GTS, and is renamed in GTS now to
/SAPSLL/LICHD. So Database table /SAPSLL/LCLIC does not exist in GTS any more. Important to know is
that only the name changes, not the definition itself.
Custom Code will show a syntax-error after conversion in case old objects are used, so this has to be taken
care of by the conversion project.
The change of the software component from SLL-LEG to GTSCORE is modelled as a conversion. This
means the old component is uninstalled, and the new one installed.
As GTSCORE does not include the old database tables any more, a SUM phase has been introduced to
copy the content from the old ones to the new/renamed ones during the conversion. This would not be
possible by an upgrade.
Other objects not containing content, like data elements, have been replaced by semantically identical ones
with a different name (often with *_N)
Install on top with DMLT Services(Data Management and Landscape Transformation Services) migrating
data from the old Hub System
SAP GTS, edition for SAP HANA 2020 cannot be supported on a S/4 Foundation higher than
2021.
S/4 Foundation 2022 is a prerequisite to trigger the conversion process in SUM for the renaming
of the table.
If a customer would start already with S/4 Foundation 2022 when upgrading, the SUM phase
would not be executed, leading to a data loss.
A PGA (Partner Government Agency) is a government agency that works alongside the Customs and
Border Protection (CBP) that regulate commodities exported or imported into the U.S.
Some PGAs include:
Products that are regulated by PGAs often require permits or other additional documentation, so many
PGAs have their own import guides.
It is the importer’s responsibility to be aware of what they need
The PGA information which can be reported through ACE is quite extensive and therefore organized in
‘Records’ and ‘Fields’ – see Participating Government Agencies Message Set for a full list of available
records and their fields.
Not all of these records and fields are supported by every agency, so each agency has published an
implementation guide with detailed instructions – see for example PGA Message Set for Shipments
Subject to NHTSA Regulations
It depends on the nature of the product, by which agencies the import is regulated. This information can
be derived from the HTS code of the product. If the HTS code has one or more ‘Agency Tariff Code’
assigned, the product is regulated by the agencies defined in the ACE Agency Tariff Code Reference.
The new PGA solution needs to be activated for the respective numbering scheme to replace the older
solution:
There is a new section in the product to maintain all requires PGA information. The required agencies and
programs are derived from the relevance code of the classification – hence the ‘Valid On’ information is
mandatory.
A PGA dataset defines the information to be sent for a specific agency & program, moreover this information
might depend on supplier and date:

Apps ‚Manage Positive List‘ and ‚Manage Negative List‘ have been
enhanced to enable a new Sanctioned Party List Screening for
business partners on these lists. This ensures that once a business
partner is on either list, they can also be taken off these lists by the end
user.
