LEARNING

At theOBJECTIVE
end of the lesson, the grade 3 students
must be able to:
A.) Demonstrates understanding of lines and
symmetrical designs
B.) Is able to recognize and represent lines in
real objects and designs or drawings and
complete symmetrical
C.) Visualizes, identifies and draws congruent
line segments (M3GE-IIIF-13)
MATHEMATICS 3

Visualizes, identifies,
and draws congruent
line segments M3GE

CHAPTER
1
What can you say
about the picture?
Where can you find line
segments?
How many line segments
are there?
Let’s have two pair .

Let one partner draw a line

segment. The other partner will
measure the line segment
made by his/her partner. Then
he/she draws another line
segment with the length.
What have you noticed?

How do you know that the line

segments are equal?

Are the Line Segment equal?

When can you determine that

the line is equal?
What is line segment?

How will you determine if the

line segment is equal?

What do you call line segments

with the same length?
Lines segment are congruent if they have
the same length.

To identify if line segments are congruent,

you can use a ruler to measure their lengths
and compare.
Or you can put one line segment on top of
the other to check if the line segments
have the same length.
The symbol for congruency is:

We write: AB EF

We say the line segment AB is

congruent to line segment EF
While singing the song
“Bahay Kubo” you are
going to pass the box with
the line segments inside it.
Then the pupils who hold
the box after the song stop
will pick/get one and
identify if it is congruent
line segment or not
congruent line segments.
Study the line segment.
Choose a color from the primary colors to color
the circle if the figure is NOT – CONGRUENT.
Then choose a color from the secondary colors
to color the circle if the figure is CONGRUENT.
Group the class into three. Each group will do the
following task.
GROUP 1
Pick out 5 pictures in the board that Shows
CONGRUENT line Segment.
GROUP 2
Get the pairs that has same length from a box.
GROUP 3
Study and measure the rectangle using ruler.
Compare the Line Segment. Which are the line segments
that has same measure of length. Write your answer in a
bond paper.
A. Draw the dotted lines, then identify if it is
congruent line segment or not congruent. Write CLS
for the congruent line segment and NC for not
congruent line segment.
B. Using different size of sticks provided by
the teacher, the pupils will match the sticks
that are congruent to each other,
Assignment
List all the things that you can find in your
Home or in your surroundings that has
congruent line segment. Do it in your
notebook.
This is Teacher Cha.
