Calculus
Anxiety

Introduction & Purpose

Calculus is a challenging subject for STEM students in the Philippines,
with common problems including low participation, difficulty in
problem-solving, and lack of mastery. This negative attitude, known as
mathematics anxiety, impairs students' ability to perform mathematical
operations and solve problems. Factors contributing to this anxiety
include teachers, parents, peers, and society. Challenges include
negative classroom experiences, teaching methods, learning
environment, and study habits. This study aims to identify these
challenges using qualitative questionnaires (open-ended question).
