Verification
• One of the major aspects of quality assurance.
• Process of monitoring assessment practice to ensure
that assessment decisions are accurate, reliable and
valid.
• Achieved through internal and external verification.
• DIT involves Internal Verifiers (IV) and External Verifiers
(EV) to monitor the work of all Assessors involved with a
particular qualification to ensure they are applying the
standards consistently throughout assessment activities.

Internal Verification
An approach to QA(Quality Assuarance) based on peer support
and review, that enables assessors to integrate quality into
internal assessment from the start to the end.
The roles of an internal verifier are to:
•monitor assessment practice,
•advise and support internal assessors,
•keep accurate records of assessment decisions,
•liaise with external verifiers,
•Protect assessors against challenges to professional assessment
judgment and
•Support preparation for successful external verification.

•Expert practitioner in an occupation.
•Trained assessor.
•Involved in training the candidates.
•Trainer or Head of Training.
•Ensure or demonstrates whether the assessment of the
candidates is accurate and justified according to the set
standard.

External Verification

• The process of validating the performance of candidates to


ensure the quality and consistency assessment against the
requirements of the qualifications.
• It involves providing support and advice to candidates,
centres and key stakeholders on improving the effectiveness
and quality of internal assessment and verification.
• External verification is carried out by an external verifier and
their decision is final.

•Expert practitioner in an occupation.
•Trained assessor.
•Employed or contracted by the assessment body.
•Ensure that the quality and consistency of the assessment
process is accurate as per the set standards.
•Validate assessment results.
•Provide support and advice to the centres, assessors and
internal verifiers on improving the effectiveness and quality
of the assessment.
