 INTRODUCTION
• Himanshu Goenka founded the
Muskurahat Foundation in 2014, with
the goal of assisting children in
Mumbai's slums, orphanages, and shelter
homes.
• For the past five years, this nonprofit
group has provided free education to
poor youngsters and is now seeking
community assistance to expand its
activities.
The foundation's goals include:
• promoting social welfare by enhancing
marginalized populations' well-being
• , education, healthcare, and empowering
youth through educational opportunities
and mentorship.
• The foundation's holistic approach to
child and adolescent development
focuses on meeting their physical,
emotional, social, and cognitive needs in
order to provide them with the skills and
 PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
As children grow and engage in society, they encounter various factors that shape their lives.

However, not all influences are positive; negative factors like lack of proper parenting, cultural
rigidity, socioeconomic disadvantages, media biases, and unfiltered internet can hinder a child's
development.

This disparity is most evident in "at-risk" children who lack some or all of these essential influences.

Without proper guidance, positive reinforcement, and life skills, children transitioning into
adulthood from such backgrounds are more vulnerable to harmful influences, potentially leading to poor
decisions and life choices.
 THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM
Poverty,

limited access to resources,

 and a lack of education all contribute to a difficult cycle of disadvantage.

The Muskurahat Foundation tackles these concerns by emphasizing comprehensive child

development, which includes quality education, life skills, and mental health. The foundation
believes that every kid deserves to grow up in a loving atmosphere that promotes learning,
flexibility, and the acquisition of vital life skills for a happy and meaningful life.

Cater to all sections of the society including orphanages, marginalized schools, at-risk communities, etc.

Position Muskurahat as the Centre of Excellence that nurtures/promotes experiential learning and holistic
development activities through the adoption of sound development policies and practices

 PROJECT SAARTHI
Project Saarthi is a Muskurahat
Foundation initiative that focuses
on preparing poor youth for
autonomous professional options.
The project's goal is to assist these
young people in selecting and
securing careers that are in line
with their interests and current job
trends. It places a premium on the
development of critical work skills
and work ethics.
The project has a two-pronged
approach: it helps adolescents
obtain immediate jobs while also
assisting them in pursuing long-
term professional ambitions. It
also stresses the teaching of life
skills and the provision of mental
health services to assist these folks
in breaking free from their difficult
circumstances.
Recognizing that many
participants lacked the necessary
English and digital literacy skills
for relevant career opportunities,
the foundation set up a temporary
community center. English and
computer tutors were hired to fill
this need, teaching the youngsters
basic language and technology
skills that increased their
employability and self-confidence.
In the first experimental batch of
about 100 young care-leavers,
80% of participants were able to
find work to cover their urgent
financial needs.
 VOLUNTEER
ENGAGEMENT
As a volunteer fundraiser at Muskurahat
Foundation, I have gained hands-on
experience in charitable engagement.
The foundation's mission to empower
underprivileged communities through
education, healthcare, and social
services has allowed me to make a
meaningful impact on the lives of others.
I have built strong relationships with
donors and sponsors, honed my
fundraising skills through events and
campaigns, and learned important
teamwork, adaptability, and project
management lessons. This experience
has allowed me to contribute to
transformative change and facilitated my
personal and professional growth.
