PROBLEM DEFINITION

• Isolation among students due to lack of communication

• Harmful effects caused due to engagement with inappropriate individuals
• Inappropriate content shared through social media
• Uneven knowledge distribution within Sri Lanka

SOLUTION

Creating a platform where students can communicate with each other with no outsiders so that students can share their
knowledge among them and can develop their social skills in a safer manner.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a website which allows only the students to access the platform, and the verification is done through the school.
Also, website gives you the opportunity to find new friends though you don’t know their names to communicate with
each other. Website also has features to create groups to organize extracurricular activities and a calendar which
represents the events of all the schools in Sri Lanka.

BUSINESS MODEL

One possible business model for a website that provides access for school students to communicate with each other in a
safer manner than using social media platforms is the *school network model*. This is a B2B (business-to-business)
model, where the website sells its services to schools, who then provide access to their students. The website can charge
schools a monthly or annual fee based on the number of students or the features they want to use. The website can also
offer discounts or incentives for schools that sign up for longer periods or refer other schools.

MARKETING PLAN & ANALYSIS

The website uses various online and offline marketing strategies, such as SEO, social media, email, blog, podcast,
influencer, trial, demo, webinar, workshop, event, advertising, and word-of-mouth, to increase its brand awareness,
generate leads and conversions, retain and satisfy customers, and enhance its reputation and credibility. The website
measures and evaluates its marketing performance using relevant and reliable metrics, such as website traffic, conversion
rate, social media engagement, email open rate, blog and podcast views, influencer reach, trial and demo attendance,
event leads, advertising ROI, and word-of-mouth referrals.

IMPLEMENTATION

Implementing the system that connects students nationwide involves several key steps. First, define the system
requirements and features. Then, select or develop the LMS software. Integrate communication tools for collaboration.
Implement user authentication and data security measures. Lastly, provide training and support for users to ensure a
seamless experience.

FEASIBILITY

A feasibility study for Edtract involves assessing technical, economic, and operational aspects. This includes evaluating
hardware and software requirements, cost considerations, potential benefits, and the compatibility with existing systems.
It often involves collaboration with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure the proposed system aligns with the
organization's goals and needs.

THE IDEA

Edtract is a system where students all over the country will be come together in a single platform where students can
communicate safely and share resources.

MARKET RESEARCH AND VALIDATION

Conducted interviews with principals and teachers in various schools around Sri Lanka to understand the issues
happening due to lack of communication among students and from that it was clear that there’s a knowledge gap and lack
of social skills among students. Also, another step taken was sending a form to students randomly to know the needs of
the students in communication and their education activities and also to get their honest opinion about this idea.

PROOF OF VIABILITY AND POTENTIAL

During the interviews conducted teachers and principals showed their support to this concept since the Platform provides
a safe environment to the students to communicate with each other and share the resources among them without having
deal with the negative effects of social media platforms.

Students showed their interest to this idea because it helps them to interact with each other and organize events and many
more activities together without any hassle.
