 Overview of project
• As the attendance is an important aspect in every organisation and industries and to maintain
good attendance is key to the success of any organization.
• The management of the attendance can be a great burden on the on the attendance takers if it
is done by hand.
• The purpose of this project is to build an attendance system which is based on face
recognition techniques.
• Here face of an individual will be considered for marking attendance.
• During each session, Faces will be detected from live streaming video or webcam.
• The faces detected will be compared with Images present in the dataset/folder.
• If face is recognised, attendance will be marked for the respective person.
• list of present people will be marked and their record will be Inserted in the excel sheet on
real-time basis with some parameters (Name of that individual who's been recognised,Date,
Time of the attendance ,status of attendance).

taking attendance . To solve all these issue so we can go with Smart
Attendance System using Facial Recognition which uses face
detection and recognition algorithms to authenticate the attendance
system more precisely.

• The system proposed in this report is to maintain the
attendance record with day to day Attendance of the 01
person present in an organisation or in a classroom.

consuming process and there is always a chance of
proxy attendance, Thus the automated process of

saving the time, effort and as well as avoid human
intervention which can leads a lot of erorr while

• This system can be deployed for verification and attendance tracking at various government offices
and corporates

• And in todays pandemic period offices and schools are reopening and to safeguard people by having
proper “Contactless attendance” our system with Facial Recognition technology can be a good substitution.
