FITNESS

WHAT IS FITNESS

Physical fitness is a state of health and well-being and, more specifically, the ability to perform
aspects of sports, occupations and daily activities.

Physical fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition, moderate-vigorous physical

exercise, and sufficient rest.
COMPONENTS OF FITNESS
• The components of fitness is divided into two caterory:

• Health related components

• Skills related components

Are you able to identify the difference between them?

SKILLS RELATED COMPONENTS:
SPEED

IS IT PHYSICAL OR SKILLS RELATED

• Speed

COMPONENT??

• Sports Definition: Speed is the ability to move quickly across the ground or move limbs
rapidly to grab or throw. ... Movement speed requires good strength and power, but also too
much body weight and air resistance can act to slow the person down.
ANAEROBIC

..
Anaerobic exercise refers to physical activity that is performed at high intensity
for short durations, typically lasting from a few seconds to around two minutes.

Anaerobic exercise relies on energy sources stored within the muscles

themselves, such as glycogen.

During anaerobic exercise, the body cannot supply enough oxygen to meet the
demands of the activity. This leads to the production of lactic acid as a
byproduct, which can cause a burning sensation in the muscles and fatigue.
Despite this, anaerobic exercise can be highly effective for building strength,
power, and speed.
ANAEROBIC EXERCISES
1.Weightlifting: Performing exercises such as squats, deadlifts, and bench presses with heavy
weights for a limited number of repetitions.
2.Sprinting: Running at maximum effort for short distances, such as 100 meters or 400
meters.
3.High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT): Alternating between short bursts of intense
exercise and periods of rest or lower-intensity activity.
AEROBIC
Aerobic exercise often offered to as cardio exercise, is any physical activity
that primarily relies on the aerobic energy generating process. In simpler
terms, it's exercise that gets your heart pumping and increases your breathing
rate.
During aerobic exercise, your body uses oxygen to produce energy, which is
why it's called aerobic, meaning "with oxygen." This type of exercise
strengthens the cardiovascular system, improves lung function, and increases
overall endurance. Common examples include running, swimming, cycling,
brisk walking, dancing, and aerobic classes. These activities elevate your heart
rate and keep it elevated for an extended period, promoting cardiovascular
health and burning calories.
