• what is interviewee’s name: Gencer Demir.
• His age: he is 42.
• the department and university which he graduated from: he
has graduated from Anadolu University since 2003. His
major is English Language Teaching.
• The institution which he is still working at: he is working in a
state high school which he graduated from 1999. He is
teaching 12th grade students.
• the duration that he has been working as an EFL teacher in
total: He has been working as an EFL teacher for 20 years.
Interview Questions
• What kind of materials does he use in his classes? What origin
are they? he usually uses his own materials including grammar
presentations also, he uses vocabulary studies which he
prepared himself.
• Does he provide any supplementary material to your students?
He sometimes uses handouts from the internet which is
relatable to the topic.

• In which way are teaching methods challenging students, how do
you deal with it?Diverse teaching methods challenge them by
offering different ways to learn. Activities, videos, and working
together on projects make the class more interesting and help them
think critically.
• What is the purpose of the chosen lessons and assignments? Do they
build off each other?The teacher aims for a structured language
learning experience, with lessons building logically on each other.

• How can he challenge himself while protecting myself as a teacher?
He said that he can engage in workshops, seminars, and online
courses to enhance his teaching skills. This allows him to challenge
yourself intellectually without compromising his safety or
professional boundaries.
• In his teaching activities, does he prioritize spoken or written
language? He prioritizes a balanced approach to both spoken and
written language in teaching.

• Does he mention or provide examples from the cultural norms of
English communities?He includes cultural norms from English-
speaking communities in teaching activities to offer students a
comprehensive understanding of language and culture.
• What does he need exactly to serve the students as an English
teacher?
• He think that A deep understanding of English language mechanics,
grammar, vocabulary, literature, and writing techniques is
fundamental. so as a teacher he said we stay updated with
developments in the field of English studies also, Strong
communication abilities are essential to convey ideas clearly, listen
actively to students, and encourage open dialogue. This includes both
verbal and written communication.

• Does he think that his students are fully aware of their own learning
progress? He believes that students may not always be fully aware of
their learning progress.
• Does he think that his students are sufficiently exposed to authentic
language use in class?He believes students may not be sufficiently

• How can i use my strengths more effectively as an English teacher?
He said we can showcase ourselves strengths as an example for
students and demonstrate effective communication, problem-solving,
critical thinking, or any other strength you possess in your teaching
methods and interactions as a teacher.
