Thank you for purchasing my back-to-school stations.

I designed these stations to be editable, so

my intent is that you can tailor this to fit your needs. Only the flower and the text that reads
“Station #” are unable to be edited. Feel free to add or delete stations based on your students’

needs.  You can right-click and select “Duplicate slide” if you want to create a new station
with the sample template. I also included a sixth station template, in case you are interested in

to make classroom expectations.

• An icebreaker game station; one icebreaker I love involves writing get-to-know-you
questions on a big ball. Students toss the ball to each other and answer the question closest below:
to their right thumb.
• An activity that previews your first unit; it could be as simple as a KWL (know/want to
know) chart about your first topic. Click here for the digital versio

• A syllabus (I have a few templates in my TPT store, if you’re interested)
• A list of main learning objectives or power standards (that the students will use for the

Read through the syllabus and then answer the following
questions on the response sheet:
1. What should you do when the bell rings?
2. What should you do if you are absent and miss a day of
class?
3. What happens if you cheat, copy, or plagiarize?
WHEN FINISHED, discuss with your group members:
What do you think is the most important thing to remember
from the syllabus?
GOAL-SETTING
Read through the learning objectives. For each one, rate yourself using the
following scale as a guideline. Then, set a GOAL for that objective. For each
objective, provide comments to explain your self-evaluation/goal. When
finished, discuss your goals with your peers.

with confidence.

2 I can somewhat do this skill, but I need to improve to fully master it.

ONE WORD
Pick ONE word to describe your goals, dreams, and hopes for the 2018-2019 school year. JUST. ONE. WORD.
This should be a word that you want to keep in your mind throughout the year, a word that can serve as a simple
reminder for your purpose and your goals. Make sure it is a word that holds unique meaning to YOU, not a word
that conveys something that others/society want from you. Deliberately choose your word for the year; then,
write and visually represent it on a sheet of blank paper -OR- use one of the provided templates. You may
use words/phrases, images, etc. Make it meaningful to YOU. It doesn’t matter if its decipherable to anyone else,
but you should be able to explain it. You should place this visual representation somewhere where you can see it
every single day. Even if you do not keep all of your resolutions, you can at least make an attempt to live by your
word each day. Some examples are below, but try your best to think of your own word! WHEN FINISHED,
share your words with your group members.
SURVEY
FIRST, Join Google Classroom with the code for your class period:
[code here]

THEN, go to the “Student Survey” Google form linked on Classroom.

Complete this survey.

WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED, share what you hope to learn this year
with your small group.
SELFIE
PADLET
FIRST, Join Google Classroom with the code for your class period: [code here]

THEN, go to the “Get-to-know-you Selfie” Padlet linked on Classroom. From

there, you will need to take a selfie and describe what you do in your spare time,
what you did over the summer, and any other fun facts you want your
teacher/peers to know. If you would rather take a selfie on Snapchat or Instagram
and add text, emojis, Bitmojis, etc. to answer the above questions, you are
welcome to do that.  For that option, you will need to do a bit of extra work:
Save the selfie to your phone, email it yourself, download it to your Chromebook,
and attach it to the Padlet.

WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED, get to know your classmates by looking through
their selfies and reading their captions.
