Aptitude tests are often a part of the recruitment process for many organizations, as
they help assess a candidate's cognitive abilities and problem-solving skills. These tests
provide employers with valuable information about a candidate's potential to perform
specific tasks and succeed in a given job role. A high score on an aptitude test can
indicate that a candidate has the necessary abilities and traits to perform well in a
particular job, which is why they are considered important in placements. However,
aptitude tests should not be the only factor considered in the hiring process and should
be used in conjunction with other selection methods such as interviews, reference
checks, and work samples.

RESOURCES:
1. Quantitative Aptitude by DR RS Aggarwal
2. Verbal and non verbal reasoning by DR RS Aggarwal
Problems:
1. If A and B can do a work in 30 days and 20 days respectively . How long it
will take to complete the work together.
Solution:
Let the amount of work be X.
Then amount of work completed by A and B in one day will be X/30 and X/20
respectively.
Total time taken by A and B to finish the work together
Trick:
Let the amount of work be LCM(20,30)=60
Efficiency of A=60/30
Efficiency of B=60/20
Efficiency of A +B= 2+3=5
Time taken to finish the work= 60/5 =12 days.
Problems:
1. 2 men can build a wall in 15 and 20 hrs respectively but if they work
together they use 280 less bricks per hour and build a wall in 12 hrs.
Find the total number of bricks in the wall.
2. Two candles of same height burns completely in 4 hrs and 6 hrs
respectively . If both start burning together at same time with
constant speeds then calculate after how much time the ratio of their
height will become 2:3.
Problems:
3. Three men A,B and C can complete a work in 10,12 and 15 days
respectively. If A B and C start work together but after 2 days A left the
work and next after 2 days C also left the work. Then in how much time
