Your ‘best foot forward!’
Look at your cover letter and consider the following:

• What are the best details from your cover letter?

• Can you make any edits/improvements?
• What parts would you tell to a potential employer?
• Can you identify them in your letter?
The Elevator Pitch
Watch the video.
Several different people will attempt an “elevator pitch” to “the president.”
Take notes on the following:
1. What did they do right?
2. What did they do wrong?
3. Who was the worst and why?
4. Who was the best and why?
5. Would you give any suggestions to the “best” elevator pitch to make it even better?

Elevator Pitch
Use the infographic to make notes for your pitch.
dxfsdf It should use some of the ideas from your cover letter.

Try remembering what you want to say and try saying

to yourself in about 30 seconds.

You will practice once with a partner and receive

feedback in a peer editing activity.

Peer Assessment (and Feedback!)
• Practice: Read your notes. Read them again!
• Speak: Give your “pitch” to your partner.
• Listen: Hear your partner’s pitch.

Now: Complete the peer evaluation on Moodle (Assignments and

Evaluations) and give one another supportive feedback after your
assessment.
The Real Elevator Pitch
I will assign you a new partner.

Use the feedback you were given to give your improved pitch to your
new partner.
Listen to your partner’s improved pitch.
Complete the self assessment (Part 2) and submit to Moodle.
