1. Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
• Hawassa town is located in southern Ethiopia and is currently experiencing
rapid growth in construction projects, construction organizations, and
population (Emebet a vital role in any least developed countries.
• Leadership competencies significantly impact project success by enhancing
team collaboration, decision-making, and conflict resolution(Turner &
Müller, 2005).
1.2 Statement of problem
• Construction work has been halted for an extended period due to the
fluctuation of constrction materials
• Project management, it requires careful planning, diligent monitoring, and
decisive action
• Project manager’s incompetence in effectively managing project time, cost,
and quality requirements

success of construction project in Hawassa city.

2.5 Sampling Technique and Target Population


• a probability-based simple random sampling technique
• For the unknown population, the following iterative formula was used to
determine the minimum sample size (Singh, Ajay S, et, 2014)

z - the standard normal deviation
z = 1.645
p - the percentage picking a choice
p = 50% (0.5)
e - the confidence interval (or marginal error)
e = 90%

• It is calculated which is resulted in 31 number of sample size

2.6 Data processing and analysis
• The data obtained from the questionnaires were evaluated using the
Relative Importance Index (RII)

• The RII was used to rank the factor for each the objective of the study

2.7 Regarding Ethics


• The confidentiality of the data collected through the questionnaire is
maintained and it is only made use of for research purposes.
• Overall, the respondant name and the company name were strictly

So this study revealed that , the project manager Competency has a


provided on project success in Hawassa city so that it is the fluctuation
of constrction material will be blame into
5. Recommendations

• Each construction projects should also put a training agenda


(self-awareness, emotional resilience, interpersonal
sensitivity, influence, motivation, and conscientiousness).

• Companies need to focus on establishing properly structured


competency development program

• Trainings and workshops to improve the management


competencies that can encounter a particular project with
possible complexities.

• Recognize and utilize team members' strengths
