What is animal raising?

Animal raising are animals raised


and kept in an agricultural setting for
various reasons.
Benefits of Raising Animals
 Animals are raised to provide food
products. (Example: milk, meat, eggs and
other dairy products)
 Animals are raised to generate income by
selling animal products.
 Animal can serve as a companion to man.
Benefits of Raising Animals
 Animals are raised to provide other
products. (Example: wool and
leather, fiber, fertilizers and animals
fats.
 Animals provide labor such as
transporting goods or plowing the
field.
Four-legged Animals
1. Pigs or Swine
Native Pig – black in
color. It is easy to raise
and can easily adapt to
local conditions.
Large White or Yorkshire –
White body and medium
erect ears. Good milk
producers.
Landrace Breeds –
short-legged with
white medium to
large ears, best for
making bacon and
ham.
Duroc- body of
varying shades of
red, motherly
ability and good
milk producers.
Tamworth breeds
have long narrow
head with a long
snout. Best for
making bacon.
