Complaints of Patient at Home Breathing Difficulties – may be caused by food that blocks up the nose like crumbs or liquid inhaled. May be caused by an asthma attack or lungs filled with fluid. Home nurse will change the patient’s position frequently or sitting the patient up in an armchair. Coughs – can be dry or hard. Medicines ease the pained distress of coughing and may be given at night to give the patient comfort and undisturbed rest.
Asthma and Hiccups - can be relieved
by medicines prescribed by the doctors. To prevent asthma attack or hiccups, the caregiver can help the patient do the following: • Sit upright • Take medication • Drink Water • Blow into a paper bag Sleeping Problem – caused by pain, lack of exercise or activity, anxiety, too much fluid or caffeine intake late in the day. Uncontrolled Urination- caused by urinary tract infections or electrolyte and calcium abnormalities.
