PSYCHOLOGISTS

Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavior.


Psychologists are actively involved in studying and understanding
mental processes, brain functions and behavior.
GLAND

A gland is a specialized organ in the body that produces and releases


substances, like hormones or enzymes, for various bodily functions.

There are two main types of glands.

 Endocrine Gland.
 Exocrine Gland.
ENDOCRINE GLAND

An endocrine gland is a type of gland that produces hormones and releases


them directly into the bloodstream. These hormones then travel to target
organs or cells throughout the body, where they regulate various
physiological processes such as metabolism, growth, and reproduction.
EXOCRINE GLAND

An exocrine gland is a type of gland that produces substances, such


as sweat, saliva, or digestive enzymes, and releases them through
ducts onto the body's surface or into body cavities. These
substances perform specific functions, such as cooling the body,
lubricating surfaces, or aiding in digestion.
PINEAL GLAND

 The pineal gland is a


small endocrine gland.
 It is a pinecone-
shaped.
 The pineal gland is
about 0.3 inches long
and weighs 0.1 grams.
 located in the middle
of the human brain in
between the two

hemispheres.
MELATONIN

Melatonin is a hormone produced by


the pineal gland in the brain. Its main
function is regulating sleep-wake
cycles. Melatonin levels typically rise
in the evening, promoting sleep, and
decrease in the morning, allowing
wakefulness.
DISORDERS

Disorders Of Pineal
Gland.
 Depression.
 Mood swings.
 Disruption in sleep
patterns.
