The Tower is located in London, near

 The Tower served for many
purposes
* It served as a fortress to protect the capital city
* It was a Royal Palace – medieval kings and queens lived in
luxurious apartments in the Tower
* From late Middle Ages, weapons from all over England were
stored in the Tower and given to the troops to fight
* The Tower has a long tradition of storing precious royal
objects – “The Crown Jewels”
