Robotics
• A Robot is a machine capable
of carrying out a complex series
of actions automatically.

• Robotics study and application

of – robot technology.

• Robots may be constructed to

take on human form.

• Robots can be guided by an

external control or attached
within.
3 Laws of Robotics
The first law is that a robot shall not harm a human, or by
inaction allow a human to come to harm.
The second law is that a robot shall obey any instruction
given to it by a human.
The third law is that a robot shall avoid actions or
situations that could cause it to come to harm itself.
Humanoid Robot
•Humanoid robots are professional service robots
built to minimise human motion and interaction.

•They provide value by automating tasks in a way

that leads to cost-savings and productivity.

•They’re now starting to become commercially

viable in a wide range of applications.

•ASIMO (Advanced Step in Innovative

Mobility) is one of the humanoid systems
developed by Honda Motor Co. in the year 2000.

• Over the past decade in humanoid research, an

encouraging spectrum of science and technology
has emerged that leads to the development of
highly advanced humanoid robots.

Robots
Industrial Humanoid Robots

They are designed for use in manufacturing and other industrial tasks. They are typically more expensive than
other types of humanoid robots and have more limited functionality. However, they are much more durable and
can work for longer hours without tiring.
Research Humanoid Robots

They are designed for use in scientific research. They typically have more advanced features
than industrial humanoid robots and are more expensive. However, they are not as durable and
may not be able to work for as long hours.
Consumer Humanoid Robots

They are designed for personal use. They are typically less expensive than other types of humanoid robots and
have more limited functionality. However, they are much more user-friendly and can be used for a variety of
tasks, such as providing companionship or helping with household chores.
