Criterion 1 Design Problems
Requirement of external tables
Lack of Storage Do you ever wish that your table and chair were one so that it occupied a smaller space. One problem that we face with the orthodoxical setup of
studies is that we always have to have an external table with our regular chair to make the entire system work. The idea is make an unconventional and
unique design to have the function of both together.
Clutter, both a physical and internal miracle, has a profound impact on our lives. Physical clutter consists of the
accumulation of gratuitous particulars in our living spaces, while internal clutter refers to the inviting studies
and distractions that enthrals our minds. Together, they can produce a chaotic terrain that hinders productivity,
well- being, and clarity. Physical clutter is the palpable substantiation of excess in our lives. It manifests as piles
of things, crowded shelves, and disorganised apartments. The presence of physical clutter can make it gruelling
to find what we need, adds to our stress situations, and indeed affects our mood. Research has shown off that a
cluttered fiefdom can conduct to swelled perturbation and ceased seat. Mental clutter, on the other phase, is the
result of information cargo, constant multitasking, and the noway- ending aqueduct of digital adverts .

The Amount that a person will pay varies on their

we need to take the average price the consumers
90000 would pay for the product to determine the exact
45000 price for the table.

Learnings and Conclusion

I have conducted this survey among various age groups and genders to get a
perfect response , I have done this to avoid similar opinions between people
of the same age or gender a total of 9 people were tested and that has led to
this response and that they are facing the design problems showcased in the
beginning, and they would pay a high price for a table like this as it is a
necessity for them that solves other problems as well

Ergonomics and anthropometric data

Ergonomics is the scientific discipline of designing products and environments to
match the people who use them. It incorporates anthropometric data when
designing products to improve user experience. For example, when you manufacture
a door handle, you use the measurements of the hand to design the shape and size of
the handle. The same theory applies to designing various products such as furniture,
vehicles, clothes, etc.

Anthropometrics is the study of the human body and its movements, especially in
terms of its measurements, but ergonomics is the scientific discipline that involves
designing products and environments to match the individuals who use them. While
anthropometrics involves the systematic measurement of the physical properties of
the human body (height, weight, shape, arm length, etc.), ergonomic involves
incorporating anthropometric data in designing products and environments.

Idea 1
Features and Evaluation

The sofa is inspired from existing projects from well

known designers adding a few of my own functions to
heighten up the experience a bit for the consumers, it has a
rollable and rotatable table with a book shelf on the side.

Advantage
1) Has a lot of storage
2) Solves both the problems

Disadvantage

1) Not very usable because of

two people seating
2) Very bulky because of
the size
Criterion 3

Idea 2
Features and Evaluation

The design of this sofa is very simple yet solves one of the
most important problems of storage in a subtle way by
having sideways opening tops and gentle closing hinges.

Advantage

1) Has a lot of storage

Disadvantage

1) Too simple a design

Criterion 3

Idea 3
Features and Evaluation

The sofa solves all the problems of the average consumer

by providing ample space to store, a comfortable sofa to sit
on, a bookshelf, a cupholder, a rollable and rotatable table
top and is nowhere away from being as classy and subtle as
it gets.

Advantage
1) Has a lot of storage
2) Solves both the problems

Disadvantage

1) Legs may slip a little

2) The front storage maybe
hard to reach
Criterion 3

Idea 4
Features and Evaluation

The sofa is again, very simple but it has a very subtle look
and has a low table and some storage attached to it.

Advantage

1) Solves both the problems

Disadvantage

1) Not enough storage

Criterion 3

Idea 5
Features and Evaluation

The sofa has a lot of storage and also solves the table
problem but the look is destroyed as it looks very cheap
because of the comical amount of visible storage on the
sofa.

Advantage
1) Has a lot of storage
2) Solves both the problems

Disadvantage

1) Not very good looking

2) Very bulky because of
the storage

Justification for the chosen idea

Idea 3 was chosen to be finalised as it has the most number of smiley faces [6] and only 1 neutral face. The product has
passed all the criterion needed to be a good product according to me as it has a very modern look without looking too
outdone and it has sharp edges to look more stylish, the sofa has additional storage within to store books or stationary. It
uses the vertical space effectively and even the holders in the front use up all the space available to them they use the space storage. The form of the
sofa follows the form of the cube giving it a nice look, it has a large surface area and makes it easy for people to be able to read and write on it
comfortably without any difficulty, it is a space saving sofa so it also takes up very less space and offers much more the only con is the price it is a little
high as It offers a lot for any sofa in this category.
