cooking food. It requires special tools and
equipment in order to bring out the best
results.
To prepare for baking, familiarize yourself

aluminium sheet used for baking
cookies.
Baking pan – an aluminium or tempered glass
dish, rectangular or square in form used for

OVEN
- Is a thermally insulated chamber used for the
heating, baking or drying a substance, most
commonly used for cooking.
- are the workhorses of the bakery and pastry shop
and are essential for producing the bakery products.
- are enclosed spaces in which food is heated,
usually by hot air.
- Used for baking, heating and drying foods.
1. Portable Glass Front Oven
- Is most widely used type for small pizzas.
- Contains a thermostat at the glass door
indicating the temperature inside.
- Simply placed a top a gas or electric stoves.
Heat can be regulated by reducing or
increasing the flame.
2. Gas or Electric Range
- Mos modern type of baking appliance is the gas
or electric range.
- Consists of burners on top of the stove for
cooking, and a big oven below with a fitted
glass door.
- Has thermostat and a timer that allows easy
baking. Most oven contain a broiler, which
allows easy broiling of meat, fish or poultry.
