SMART CITY

A smart city, then, is a city in which a suite of sensors (typically


hundreds or thousands) is deployed to collect electronic data from
and about people and infrastructure so as to improve efficiency and
quality of life.
GOAL OF SMART CITY

The main goal of a smart city is to optimise city functions and


promote economic growth while also improving the quality of life
for citizens by using smart technologies and data analysis. The
value lies in how this technology is used rather than simply how
much technology is available.

and infrastructure.

HISTORY
mart Cities Mission was launched by the Hon' Prime Minister on 25 June,
2015. The main objective of the Mission is to promote cities that provide
core infrastructure, clean and sustainable environment and give a decent
quality of life to their citizens through the application of 'smart
